Florence Elementary School is located in the vibrant urban neighborhood of Hillcrest in San Diego. We serve students from Universal Transitional Kindergarten (UTK) through 5th grade. Our attendance boundaries span from Eighth Avenue to Reynard Way and from the UCSD Medical Center to Laurel Street. Nestled in a colorful community known for its diversity and growing medical and health related facilities, Florence Elementary reflects the dynamic spirit of Hillcrest.
We are proud to offer a stable and nurturing learning environment where most students remain enrolled throughout the school year. Many of our students begin their educational journey in Transitional Kindergarten and continue through 5th grade, fostering a strong sense of connection and continuity. Additionally, students from outside our boundaries enrich our school community through the district’s School Choice program, enhancing the cultural and ethnic diversity that makes Florence unique.
