Meet Principal Alexis Conerty
It is my sincere pleasure and honor to be serving as your principal at Florence Elementary School. Being an educator is in my blood. As a proud third-generation educator, I have dedicated my career to the students of the San Diego Unified School District since 1997. Over the years, I’ve held various roles, including Classroom Teacher, Reading Recovery Teacher, English Learner Support Resource Teacher, District Resource Teacher, and most recently, Principal of Florence Elementary School. It has been my honor to serve the students, staff, and community of Florence Elementary since 2015. I believe my experiences serve well as I collaborate with teachers, families and the community at Florence Elementary.
I have been married since 2002 and I am a proud mother of a college student and high school student. As a mom, I know what it is like to bring your children to school each and every day and expect them to be loved, cared for and to learn new things. As an educator, I understand the awesome responsibility we have to effectively love, care for and teach our students new things. Because I live in both worlds, that of a mom and of an educator, I feel I bring a perspective to Florence that will support all students, families and teachers.
